2021 Board Elections

Dear Members,

The board elections for this year have been called, and the formal announcement is attached. You have until the end of the 10th of October to nominate other members for election to the board.

To do so you must email election@hacman.org.uk with your nomination from the email address you use in the membership system, stating your name and the name(s) of the member(s) you wish to nominate.

You do not need to nominate current board members - they will automatically be asked if they wish to stand. You can’t nominate the returning officer.

Dear Members,

The nomination deadline is approaching - you now have just over one day to submit your nominations. Late nominations can not be accepted.

Greg Morris (as Returning Officer)

If you are a member you should have received (or be about to receive) your voting email. If you think you should have received one, but haven’t, please email election@hacman.org.uk with your email address and username and I will look into it.

The candidates have all provided a short piece of text to encourage you to vote for them - none of these were found to be over the length limit, and are reproduced below in random order.

Joanne Partington

I have not been part of the space for very long, but within this short space of time, I feel like I’ve been able to connect with everyone I have met, been able to accept and give advice based on the knowledge I’ve gained whilst there, as well as being an active member through the social channels
I work within a recruitment environment and feel this could potentially be beneficial with assisting in growing the current membership numbers.

Grayson

I have been a member of the space for just over 4 years and a board member for two. I would like the opportunity to continue expanding on the potential the space has to be a creative, welcoming environment for new and existing members.

No Further Places is a candidate that, if elected, leaves any further positions vacant, rather than filling them.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask - I can be contacted by emailing election@hacman.org.uk.

The board elections have concluded, and the results are that Jo Partington is now a board member. Grayson has indicated to me her intent to withdraw from the election, and will not take up her seat on the board. Turnout was 30%, and was sufficient for a quorum. There were 15 valid nominations made by four members, and the automatic nomination of one board member. Two were accepted, 13 declined, and one provided no timely definitive response. A full account of the counting and ballots cast will be sent to all voters shortly.
