£700 commission opportunity for hackers/makers/coders & disabled musicians

In Feb 2017 Drake Music is launching a supported period of collaboration and creative development between disabled musicians and technologists/hackers/coders based in the North West of England. The aim of this work to to investigate the possibility of building brand new accessible instruments, tools and/or pieces of music that are designed to remove barriers to music.

At the heart of the project will be an ‘innovation challenge’. A £700 (£500 + £200 access budget) commission will be available for 4 creative teams to work collaboratively on a new ‘DM Development’.

To kickstart this exciting project project we are holding two free informal workshops for disabled musicians and technologists to connect, share work and ultimately collaborate. The sessions will be free, fun and friendly! The first is on Saturday February 18th at The Landing, Media CityUK, Salford. The second is Saturday February 26th at Band on the Wall, Manchester. Please use the links to book via Eventbrite.
