Announcing - Hackspace:Manchester - our new space

After months of looking at railway arches, compiling spreadsheets and
buying tools, we are proud to announce Hackspace Manchester!

A Hackspace is a community driven, member run workshop for people to make
things. This could be anything: electronics, software, knitting or woodwork!

The new space is on the first floor at #44 Edge Street, in the heart of the
Northern Quarter. Its 3 doors down from MadLab, who have been a fantastic
host to us for the past two years. The space is around 1000 square feet,
and has plenty of room for a workshop, storage, tables, chairs and a
‘chillax’ zone. A small area will be taken by DIYBio Manchester, who are
planning to build the UK’s first accredited DIY Biolab.

We will be putting into place a membership structure costing £25 a month,
which will include project storage space and anytime access to the space
and amenities.

We will still be open and accessible to non-members too! Our open evenings
will continue to run on wednesdays, initially split between MadLab and the
Hackspace, eventually moving entirely to the Hackspace

Cool. Many congratulations! When’s the space warming party?

Best wishes,

So, the first thing we need to figure out is how and when to move in.

We’ll need to shift all the stuff from the workshop, and other bits of
furniture we’ve acquired up into the new space.

This weekend is out obviously due to maker faire, but i’m pretty much free
for the 2 weeks after that outside of working hours.

WOOOP! Well done guys!On 26 Jul 2012, at 14:18, Bob Clough wrote:

WOW

Well glad to see that things have finally taken shape in the space you
wanted since that first encounter at my uncles factory over 2 years ago.

Well Done to everyone
