Band saw that tilts?

Hey,

Happy new year and all that!

So I was just wondering do we have a bandsaw in the space and also does it
tilt?

Been making tetrahedrons, need to cut at a seemingly random angle of 35.27!

We have a bandsaw…doesn’t tilt…have a chop saw that does…get an
induction before using it please…

Cheers

Chopsaw is not the tool for this job.

Try the table saw… but again may not be the best tool

Depends on material size

Looking at the photos in the link you posted. They show a table saw being used

Skippy I don’t agree…the chop saw could be used for this job perfectly
well…but yes the video does show a table saw being used with a jig.

If the band saw tilts Bob I was unware of this.

I’ve also never seen the band saw tilt Bob.

Thanks for the info, so it definitely does tilt?

I saw a much more complex one without using a tilted saw, on the same guys
page, he basically builds a box at an angle to mitre the sides of triangles
to make tetrahedrons of various
sizes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gji5UPuWao

I’ve made one just by filling the sides in the pic attached, but I plan on
making a large stellated octahedron, two intersecting tetrahedrons, and
that’s going to be a laborious and inaccurate process if I continue just
filling the edges. So any suggestions on how to make it accurately and
efficiently would greatly appreciated.

it’s only a one direction sawOn 25 January 2015 at 12:18, Bob Clough bob@clough.me wrote:
