Anyone at HacMan interested in this? Not much detail there, but if
people are interested I’ll get in touch and ask for more details.---------- Forwarded message ----------

Hi all

I had a chat with Paul Hugues from BBC Entertainment, they’re
developing a new series around the making culture and are specially
interested in following teams building robotics projects. Sounds like
Robot Wars with an educational spin, I thought this could interest
members and sub-groups at LHS (Not Just Arduino, Robotics,
AeroSpace…).

Paul sent a description (see below) of what he is looking for, you can
get in touch directly with him if interested or have questions.

cheers

The BBC are currently developing an entertainment series looking at
the world of hacking, making and robotics.

In the potential series teams compete to design and build
technological solutions to challenges set to them. After receiving a
very broad challenge, we’d follow the teams’ design and build process,
where they would be assisted by experts, and then challenge them to
bring their creations to the studio to compete against each other.
This would be a vehicle for us to explore the science of robotics and
celebrate the UK’s engineering spirit.

We are on the look-out for potential groups of engineers, inventors
and mechanical tinkerers who might take part in a series.

Please contact paul.hughes01@bbc.co.uk or
Alice.Walker-Mitchell@bbc.co.uk for further information.

I’m intrigued if nothing else… And I do love making robots.On 2 Feb 2015 17:22, “Jim MacArthur” jim@mode7.co.uk wrote:
