Hi,
I’ve noticed a fold up bike in the space that seems to have been there for
quite some time
Would it be possible for whoever owns it to please fold it up so that it
takes up less space?
I recognize in terms of storage things are in a bit of a mess at the moment
If it’s being actively worked on then I don’t have a problem with it being
there (if it’s isn’t then that’s probably one for another day when things
are a bit more organised)
But it’s current location is in front of the shelves where we keep walking
into it
If you looked at it rather than trying to walk through / over it and using it as a point of complaining you would see a do not hack sticker on it. I assure you that this sticker would inform you of who it belongs to and has contact details on it.
It’s not a very large or heavy object, I am sure if it’s in the way between you and some one else you can lift this huge object to some where out the way.> On 9 Jun 2016, at 10:46, ‘garlicbread (Richard)’ via Hackspace Manchester hacman@googlegroups.com wrote:

in a folded state? On Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 5:53:25 PM UTC+1, Skippy McGaw wrote:

shouldn’t be messing with it

Skippy - my brother has a folding bike, so I know how they work. Would you
mind if I folded it and put it somewhere a bit out of the way?

Tas was in this evening and looked at it. I will be in at the weekend and can fold it then.
Richard can you please fix your email client so when you send a message to the mailing list we don’t have to guess who you are by changing your name off the hackspace.> On 9 Jun 2016, at 22:09, Chris Hilliard badspyro@gmail.com wrote:

another option would be to actually remove the bike from the space,
especially because the space is in rebuilt.
if it’s not being worked on then why is it in the space in the first place?
also, i’ve fallen over it quite often in the other space when trying to
access my storagespace.
best wishes,

You lot make me despair. This is one of the very few oversized items in the space which is clearly labelled and as such fulfils the storage guidelines. How about you too follow the guidelines and ASK THE OWNER OF THE ITEM TO REMOVE IT rather than whinging about it.

Perhaps it’s Hitler’s bike and he wants it left there for some reason?

The bike is now folded and nicely tucked away under a bench against the wall
It’s well away from any shelves / area around the desks in the middle of
the room, (along with the mini ladders / platform which were also in the
way)
so very happy with the end result
We had a pretty good day today, nocking down as much of the lose bits on
the ceiling as we could (got about half way with it)
Many thanks to Chris, Skippy, Bob, Fahad, the other Chris, Alex
Hopefully we’ll get a load more done tomorrowOn Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 10:46:19 AM UTC+1, garlicbread (Richard) wrote:
