Broadstone Mill - Take 2.. er, 3.

I’ve just finished talking to Andy Green, who is the architect at Broadstone
Mill. I’ve arranged a meeting with him tomorrow at 12:30.

I’ll report back as soon as it’s all over. I’ll try and be on IRC while I’m
there also - if I can.

Hi all,

So, I’ve been, today, to the Mill, and I’ve taken some photos. I’ve put them
on my personal space at http://jon.spriggs.org.uk/SHS. The photos are shrunk
to 800x600, so if you want to see more detail, click on the photo and it’ll
take you to the full sized image.

Any comments or questions, raise them now on the mailing list, join us on
the IRC channel, or we can discuss them at the next meeting - remember,
anyone can help pick a date for the next meeting, just by using the form at

Looking at the pictures, and chatting to Jon, I think the unfinished
adjoining rooms would be perfect for us! the windowless room for
workshop and storage, and the windowed room (are those windows boarded
up?) as a soldering / assembly / hangout / coding room

I’m going to try sketching up a floorplan from the photos, so we can
work out how it’d work if we go for the space.

Hi Bob

The square of each room is around 7 larage paces (21feet-ish)
Hope that helps you with your floorplans.

Andrew

Hi,

Did you talk pounds and pence?

Dave.

No, the person I spoke to was the architect - the actual lettings are done
through a separate unit, however we got a rough idea of a price - £4/sq
ft/pa. Talking to Andy Rose, who’s already in the space, I’m lead to believe
that if we can show that we’re bringing people in who might show interest in
their own plots, or if we can put in something unusual they can shout
about… well, they might be flexible
