Saturday August the 22nd is Hack-the-space-day, we have a few things
planned, and encourage all members to come along from 1pm and lend a hand
if they can.
Workshop Clearout
The workshop is currently pretty full of unfixable tools and materials that
“Might come in useful one day”. The problem with this is that most of them
don’t [image: :)]
Its time to clear out and bin all the junk, to make the workshop all clean
and nice and able-to-find-thingsy again. We will sorting and moving all the
scrap wood to the ancoats marina wood pile, scrap metal will go to
whichever scrappy will take it away, and we’ll hopefully be able to fit
everything else in a car for a tip run.
Kitchen Cleanup
The kitchen is a bit grimy at the moment, so we plan on redoing all the
badly-washed cups and plates, binning anything thats cracked or useless and
only leaving out a sensible amount of each.
Members Storage
We’ll be setting up a sticker printer on the shared PC for people to print
out stickers for their boxes and large projects.
Anything unlabelled, belonging to non-members, or seemingly abandoned will
be given a 14-days-until-removal sticker and posted to the mailing list,
then binned if unclaimed.
General Tasks
Even if you can only spare an hour or so, or dont feel confident doing the
above tasks, there are plenty of other ways to help out:
- Hoover / Brush / Mop an area of the space.
- Tidying the great wall
- Clearing junk off tables and benches
I will try and get in and help. May be a bit jet laggedOn 13 Aug 2015 08:09, “Bob Clough” bob@clough.me wrote:

Ben Dooks, http://www.fluff.org/ben/ bjdooks@googlemail.com
We mainly concentrated on getting the workshop sorted, we’ve dug out all
the crap bits of wood and abandoned projects that were hidden in every nook
and cranny, took everything out from under all the workbenches and sorted
it all, and threw away SO MUCH rubbish. We’ve also bolted down the bandsaw
and pillar drill on the grey workbench.
There’s a big pile-o-stuff by the Hackspace door that will be going away
this week, please be careful around the door area.
Thanks to Richard, Ben, Fahad and Kat for helping out
