hi all,
i was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to get components out of
a pcb again. i am trying the solder pumps method but that doesn’t really
work that well as too much solder keeps being stuck in the holes. i only
manage to get rid of the outermost layer of the solder.
i’m using this pump here:
any help would be appreciated.

There’s a de-soldering heat-y thing in the space, but I was told not to use it when other people are around.
Haven’t been in for a few months though, so not sure where it is, Bob or Alex might know.

Constantin,
Please send a photo of the IC and PCB you are attempting to desolder. It
sounds like the PCB has plated through holes which makes desoldering very
difficult. Are you in the Hackspace? If so use the heatgun to preheat the
pads and then use the desoldering pump to remove the solder. Good luck…
