Hey HACMan,
I’m from Pittsburgh, PA, USA and I wanted to get your feedback on a
new project I’m working on called DeviceKnit. It’s like a cookbook for
electronics/gadgets that helps people share and explore the ways they
can use their devices together to accomplish goals (like “how can i
open my garage door with my iphone”) or even just to show off cool
setups. Right now we’re mainly focused on helping people get the most
out of mainstream electronics, but where we really want to go is
showing people the potential and alternatives available that use open/
agile hardware, or that they could build themselves (almost moving
into instructables-like content).
We really want to tailor it to the hackerspace/maker/fab community, so
I’d really like to hear your feedback on the concept of the site, and
if you know anyone else who you think may be interested I’d really
appreciate you sending it along. An early version is up now at
http://deviceknit.com, and we’d like to get as many people as we can
exploring the site and commenting or voting on the content we have so
far. We’re trying to iterate quickly on it, so any feedback to help
guide us would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
John Ganotis
