We will be migrating to Discourse on Friday evening.
Discourse will become our primary mailing list, and this google group will
be disabled. If you have any serious objections to this, voice them
before Friday or you might find it too late!
Should there be no major objections this group will be disabled on
Thursday, at around 23:00 (because that’s my bedtime), and the
migration will be performed on Friday evening; we’ll make one final post
on this group informing everyone when the migration is complete.
So if you are strongly against Discourse, speak now or forever be
displeased!
And before it is mentioned, we have full mailing list functionality
supported within discourse. The default settings for a new user are set to
act as a mailing list (emailing each and every post out), though users can
change this at their own discretion, and topics can be made/replied to via

Do I need to do anything? Join a new service etc?
All of the users should be imported, and to continue using it as a
mailing list no further action will be required. 
If you wish to use the web interface, however, you will need to set a
password by going through the “Forgot your password” prompts on Discourse
using the email you have set up here.
If you find a suspicious lack of emails coming to you it might be worth
poking me or the board to have a look-see if your user was imported, or you

When it is set up can you send a test message via discourse, then an
announcement to the google list before you decommission it? That way
we’ll know if we are getting the discourse messages or not.

Just to be clear, and as a gentle reminder, this google group will be made
read-only
*tonight at around 11pm ready for migration tomorrow.*A post will be made
here when this group is made read-only, and a post will be made both here
