Hi all.
I’m trying to purchase something known as a “galvanized flange” but they
don’t seem to exist in the UK for what I want it for. Does anyone know if
they go by a different name?
Ideally I need a 35mm wide flange with four holes in it like that one, and
I need a piece of pip about 30cm long that will screw into it.
I’m trying to make a banner stand with this tutorial:
http://www.caerthe-sca.org/herald/article-40-dollar-banner-stand.html
I’ve spent so long googling I’m starting to resent the word flange now
By a freak coincidence, I’m looking for something similar. The closest I’ve got so far is actually from a shop just round the corner on Thomas Street, and it’s this…
http://www.shopfittings-ltd.co.uk/shop-fittings-and-wall-display/chrome-tube/wall-mounted-chrome-tube-fittings/wall-socket-for-chrome-tube.html
It’s not threaded, but you can attach tube to it.
Also, you said ‘flange’.

Try looking for kee clamps, they’re probably close to what you needOn 23 Mar 2015 21:25, “Bohemia Skye” bohemia.skye@googlemail.com wrote:

The sizes given are for the center hole, so the 15mm should be the closest
match.On 23 March 2015 at 21:25, Bohemia Skye bohemia.skye@googlemail.com wrote:

The center hole needs to be 35mm to accommodate a wooden rod. I found that last link but I couldn’t seem to find the matching pipe to go with it. Am I being dense?
That top link is looking good but I dont know if the screw fitting would be enough to hold the pole and banner up, given that it’ll be out in the wind.
lots to look at/think about. Thanks all.
You mean this pipe:

Yep. Thats it! I don’t know why I couldn’t find it last night, I thought I’d been all over that website. Though its a but more expensive than I was hoping for.
These kee klamps seem to be a winner at the moment. Bob, do you know if there’s anything in the space that could cut the pipe to size? They sell it in meter lengths but I only need about a third of that.
I’m sure there must be but I’ve not done much with metal before.
What type of pipe is it?
We have some pipe cutters but a hacksaw with the correct blade will
probably be ok.

It says galvanized 3mm thick. But I messaged the seller and they’re going to cut it down for me
hooray!
Thank you all very much for answering my panicked questions!
