Don't tell Bob - Vending Machine

but this looks like it could be fun to have:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Snackshop-123c-70-Slot-Automatic-Products-Vending-Machine-For-spares-or-repairs-/231052409069?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35cbcbf8ed

Listed for spares or repair. The key pad/control board was taken out
to repair another machine, all other electronic are still in place,
before removal however, it was in full working order, all the moving
parts and mechanisms worked, and the unit has had very little use.

The unit has a 70 location capacity across 7 shelves. The coils are
of various pitch for different thickness items.

This unit was used to store engineering products, ie tools ,tips,
drills etc.

The unit is for collection only, we have forklift facilities if
required, the unit needs at least three people to lift it.

I’d really like to have a go at that, but we haven’t got the space for
it. We’re tripping over stuff as it is.On 17 September 2013 10:51, Philip McGaw philip@mcgaw.eu wrote:

Hmm…I’m not keen. What happens when it can’t be made to work.

We have enough stuff…more to the point there aren’t that many people
clamouring to buy kits. Its a nice idea but not a necessity

I agree. It would be ace to hack about with, but even without any junk, there’d be nowhere in the space to put it.

I admit it’s an awesome idea and something we’ve all spoken about before
but even if we had the space, we’d need to fetch from coventry… who in
their right mind would want to go there.

The advert does say they will deliver but… bad plan. We don’t need a
vending machine. I’d rather buy more tools like a CNC machine or summat!

You do realise that they make small, tabletop vending machines, right?

That would work for small kits… :stuck_out_tongue:

where can we fit that and again how can we get from london?
in addition, if we’re not selling kits that well, i don’t think that this
will help sell more

any to sell!On 17 Sep 2013 13:13, “Kathryn Reeve” kathryn@binarykitten.com wrote:

Hmm…I don’t agree Tom. We have got some kits:

Theremino
Stylophone
Joule Thief
Drawdio - aka the most annoying pencil addon ever!

Most people that walk through the door want to make their own stuff and not
a prescribed kit. I would like to make a few more ‘kits’ though…circuits
that people find a bit more useful. The problem is where to
begin…Guitar practice amp…doable but already all over the net and only
people with an electric guitar want one. Technically the guitar amp could
also be used as a mobile phone or MP3 player amp but still…quite
bespoke.

I keep looking at things we could make kits for…the knock clock is a
good one
a smaller version of an infinity mirror apparently would be popular
a barebones arduino like the shrimp is always good…
RTC clock module is a good seller etc
I suspect a decent op-amp or analogue comparator might sell well too…
Motor drivers etc etc

However if we had all of these kits available I still don’t think we need a
vending machine to sell them…it would be cool though…

Now I’ve finally reached the end of the thread…

We could persuade MadLab that they want a kit vending machine in their
shop. (I persuaded them they wanted a giant clock after all.)

Voila space problem solved.
