Anyone tried Eagle 6 yet?
Are there any advantages over using 5?

I’m sticking with 5 for now (mainly because i use the debian package), but
with 6, you can have funny-shaped pads in libraries!On 17 April 2012 10:22, Ben Dooks bjdooks@googlemail.com wrote:

Ive been using 6, and the only real difference i’ve found is that the
files are now in XML, and thus cant be opened by older versions of
eagle. However they do work better with things like Git. Thats pretty
much it actually heh…On 17 April 2012 10:26, Bob Clough parag0n@ivixor.net wrote:

I’ve been running 6 on my desktop and 5 on my laptop (without actually
realising)
No real practical difference (but I don’t make my own libs or anything like
that)
From what I can tell it’s one of those “we really ought to release another
one about now” typesOn 17 April 2012 21:49, Matthew Edwards talkingjazz@gmail.com wrote:
Hi,
Thought I’d add in my thoughts on eagle 6 as I upgraded a while ago
and it’s been nothing but issues.Firstly, it randomly crashes on both my desktop and laptop (both win7)
while doing routing layouts. This obviously causes quite a few issues,
having to constantly retrieve the backup files.I didn’t realise, until I tried to downgrade, that it has done
something to my custom libraries and they no longer work on Eagle 5.
And I’ve not found a way to export them in a way I can get them back
into 5.The major reason for me upgrading in the first place was the new
ability to connect pins on schematic symbols to multiple pads on
packages. Awesome feature.I wish I had never upgraded!
Just thought I’d add my thoughts.
