Fabrication services

Does anyone here use or run a small scale fabrication service? I need
a couple of custom sprockets and some drilled plates made up for a
model I’m making. Something a bit like emachineshop.com but preferably
UK-based to avoid all the import costs and faff. From what I’ve seen
so far I don’t think extrusion machines like Reprap will be quite
accurate enough - but I’m happy to be proved wrong!

What kind of timescale are you looking at? I spoke briefly to the lady who
will be running the Manchester FabLab and they should be opening up sometime
this quarter! Their plan is to allow community use of their machines on a
saturday afaik.

That’s good news - I saw the press release FabLab put out last year
but haven’t seen anything since then. If I don’t find anything else
suitable before they open I’ll get in touch with them.On 24 Feb, 00:09, Bob Clough para...@ivixor.net wrote:

I’d very much like to see what they have set up - if you can organise
a visit then I think a lot of HACMan people would be interested.

I’m well up for this visit, too; I report about fabbing a lot at
Futurismic, and it’d be nice to be able to do some coverage with the
thing right in front of me. Keep us posted. On Feb 24, 10:29 am, Bob Clough para...@ivixor.net wrote:
