Can’t make the meeting tonight (again), I feel like I’ve been neglecting
HacMan lately so here’s details of my latest (topical) hack:
I put one of my DVB PCI cards in one of our servers a few weeks ago and
along with the help of a little program called mumudvb, have had a
multicast re-broadcast of all of the World Cup games to every machine in
All that is needed to watch is a media player (such as VLC) pointed at
the right multicast address. (It also massively reduced bandwidth usage
and is superior quality to streams from the 'net).
Hope to make it next week with a big box of stuff I’ve been collecting.
