“Hacky Birthday” at FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology)

On Saturday 23rd FACT are having their buildings 10th Birthday party;

Join FACT in celebrating 10 years since the FACT building opened on Wood Street in Liverpool with a family fun day full of party games, birthday cake and arty activities throughout the building.

It is a free day out, starting at 11am with things going on all day until about 18:00 (full details can be found at http://www.fact.co.uk/projects/hacky-birthday/)

Manchester’s MadLab will be holding a workshop:

Who’s robot is the best artist? Who’s robot has the best dance moves? Who has the fastest robot in all of FACT and will win the robot 100cm land speed record? There’s only one way to find out - at the Hacky Birthday! Learn how to build your own DIY battery-powered robot - then customise it! Is it a sprinter? Can you make it learn some moves? Can it paint?

Manchester’s MadLab will be running a family-friendly, fun and educational workshop around simple robot-building with a number of competitions and prizes. Everything you need is provided. Throughout the day, a number of competitions will let your robot compete against other robot builders - ‘fastest bot’, ‘best dancer’, ‘best looker’ and ‘last one standing’ games will be in operation throughout the day.

Not to mention the Tweeting Typewriter (a Project I am working on - http://philipmcgaw.co.uk/tweeting-typewriter/)

A 1950’s Remington typewriter has been hacked to turned it into the worlds first Tweeting Typewriter. Share your favourite memories and moments from our ten year history one this one of a kind invention. The Typewriter will be available in the Cafe from February 16.

If you are around the area, pop in and say hi :smiley:

Oh and if that is not enough cool (how can you ever have too much???) there are Tesla Coils :smiley:

Kind Regards

Skippy
