In the next month we have two events - Handmade and Derby Mini MakerFaire.
For handmade, we’ll need either a big car or a van for the day to move
things, which will be about 50 quid to rent. This event is in manchester
though, so we might be able to get a lift over with stuff.
For Derby Mini MakerFaire, I think we should hire a crewcab like we did for
Brighton, and split the cost between the people who van it over. Based on
Brighton that’ll be about £300 for the weekend, so around £60 per person.
I think Nottingham Hackspace are letting people sleep over there during
the MakerFaire, so we should be OK on the accommodation front.
We’ll also need to get some of the leaflets professionally printed and buy
more stickers, which will be about £60. If anyone can give anything
towards this, that’d be great (I cant afford to buy them all myself again!).
Can i also get replies here so i know who is going to each event, as the
organizers want numbers.
Ta,
Bob
Bob,
When is handmade? If we ask Teddy nicely when he is back from Berlin
he would probably be prepared to help providing we sort him out with
diesel. For Derby, the crewcab is the better option. An even split
between people for rent and fuel is fair.
I thought I did give cash towards the printing last time? If not I
will certainly pledge a tenner to this lot. Can we clarify that
Nottingham are prepared to let people sleep on their floor…I am
looking to attend both events and will provide suitable monies when
required.
Cheers
Alex
P.S. How was HacMan last night? I was fiddling with LEDS at
Manchester Children’s hopsital…again.On 3 May 2012 14:03, Bob Clough parag0n@ivixor.net wrote:

Cool, thats 20 total, so we should be sorted for 500 leaflets at least.

I will email Dominic to check, but that was the plan.

Went pretty well, the photographer got loads of photos and they interviewed
a few of us for the maker faire press release.
Hows the LED project going, back on track for friday? Do you need any help?
Bob,
Thanks for the offer, the display is done and working as well as it
is going to. The LED part is working but the Teddy’s bit with the
sounds isn’t and I can’t find what is wrong with it! I believe it is
a combo of things…some plonker not Teddy or I has possible damaged
some of the connection cables on the sound unit and the software
driving the MP3 shield seems to crash all of the time.
I am thinking of going back and fixing it after the launch if I can be
bothered. I have secured the next job though so that is good. I
definitely will not be soldering 128 LED connection wires again!
Sprung connectors and Light pipes are the future for this kind of
thing.
See you soon, I’m off dan saaf for the weekend.
