Hello all! I’m looking to get involved with the hackspace and signed up on the site so thought I’d introduce myself here.
My name’s Edward (not averse to Ed if you’d like), I’m from Stockport and have just finished my first year in Computer Science at the University of Manchester. I mainly have a software background but I’m looking forward to getting into hardware more. I popped into the space in April and saw some of you at Maker Faire so you might recognise my face. I’m currently working on a commission with the Cornerhouse based around an interactive room game experience thing, and am hopefully going to be able to use the space for making some of the stuff (Raspberry Pi inside an old radio etc).
I obiviusly need to have some inductions etc - any idea how/when I can do some?
Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all and working with you
Hi Ed,
The best thing to do would probably be to come and see us on a Wednesday
night. Bring your project with you so we can work out which things you
need inducting on and then get started! Wednesday night is Open Night from
19:00 onwards. If Wednesday is not suitable for you then let me know when
is and I will try to arrange a time.
Cheers

Hi Alex,
I popped in on Saturday and got my RFID tag and met a few people. Busy on
Wednesdays normally, but I’ve seen enough stuff I think to get going.
Looking forward to seeing you all round!
Thanks a lot,
