While doing the mailing list moderation, there’s a job posting. In the two+
years of being involved in the hack space and it’s mailing list, I’ve not
had one job offer posted yet.
So, what do people think? Permit them, or ditch them?

The ruling we have for the NWE.pm list is “no recruiters” and if you
want to post you must be subscribed. We also welcome people to come
along to meetings and buy a round if they want to have time with
people.
I’ll take free beer to talk to someone about what jobs they have open

As Kimball has pointed out, london.pm have extensive rules, but they
get many more postings than most lists I suspect.

I would agree with the recommendation that pure recruiters are given a short shove off the mailing list, however people who are legitimately interested in hacking, and HackSpace ethos are given a warm welcome and can post jobs that they think subscribers to this list would be interested in.
I would love to see job offers, however I would hate to see someone like Reed posting there usual level of shotgun posting on here.
I am looking for work for when I get to manchester, and this list is a good way of knowing what is happening in the area (CV is at http://philipmcgaw.co.uk/cv/).
