Hi there guys,

I am planning to join your hackspace, I am in need of a workshop / tools
and my studio flat doesn’t allow me to do anything… the floor is carpet,
so it’s a mess to clean. Long story short, I would be more than happy to
join. I have a couple of questions:

  1. I was wondering if you guys have access to a CNC milling machine, or
    something similar. Or know someone that has one :slight_smile:

  2. As I need some space, I will probably need a little storage room. Does
    the workshop offer a small space or is it already full with amazing tools?

Hi Paolo,

We have a very small CNC machine thats set up for making PCBs, and a
slightly bigger one thats not working at the moment (I’m converting it to
run off a smoothieboard, It should be up and running soon)

As part of your membership, you get either a cube or half a shelf in the
Quiet Room (Member’s Storage). There are also shelves for storage of
oversized items, but space on these is a bit limited.

Hi Bob,

thanks for your email. I was hoping to do some woodwork (I am in the
process of building a guitar and I won’t stop here :slight_smile: ), so some storage
space would be great. I guess that half a shelf could definitely do. I will
try to join ASAP then!

Hi Paolo,

After signing up, you should get an email from a company called gocardless,
who we use for managing our direct debits.

If you can pop in on a wednesday evening for open night (or organise a
visit another evening with someone), you can set up an RFID tag, which will
become active automatically when your first payment arrives.

Hi Bob,

thank you for your email. I received the gocardless email a few minutes
ago, so everything should be setup now. Sadly I can’t do Wednesdays, but
Thursday or Saturday all day are fine by me. Would I be able to find
someone around?

Dear Bob,

It saddens me to let you know that I’d like to quit my membership to the
Hackspace. In nearly a year I managed to come over twice (!), and even if
I’d like to come more often I am at the moment lacking the most precious
resource of all… time to do so.

So, how do I go about this? Do I just stop the directdebit on Gocardless?

Thank you for your help and I hope that in the future I’ll be able to use
your facilities again
