I’ve fitted the new laser chiller this evening, and the laser should now be
cutting consistently again.
The chiller is to the left of the laser cutter. MAKE SURE IT IS TURNED ON
BEFORE USE. It can be turned off when the temperature on the front is less
than 25, or after 2 minutes (whichever is the later).
For reference, it was cutting well at power 100 speed 5.

I’m not currently a member, but am in Manchester area. I’m after using a
laser cutter for some hobby projects (SMT stencil cutting). Is it just a
matter of joining, paying the fee and then organising an induction to use
the laser?
Thanks in advance

Yup that’s exactly right. Laser inductions see usually done on Thursday evenings and you may need to poke us to get us to set one up as they’re intermittent at the moment.

Just to clarify, the chiller MUST BE RUNNING WHILE YOU ARE CUTTING.On 10 August 2016 at 22:00, Bob Clough bob@clough.me wrote:

Would there be any chance of doing an induction during the day on the
laser?
Thanks

Does the machine not have an interlock to determine if the water is running
or is this just a nudge to remind people why it isn’t cutting?
We find hackspaces tend to put the chiller and the machine onto the same
plug then you can’t run one without the other.On Tuesday, 16 August 2016 13:49:44 UTC+1, ma...@mattbrocklehurst.co.uk wrote:
