Do we still have the lathe and if so are there occasional training
sessions? I’ll eventually need the heads of some metric coachbolts
turning down so they fit into imperial-sized holes on a bell headstock -
see the hole below the (broken) wooden stay in this picture for an example:

It’s still possible to get imperial fixtures if needed. I think most of the
people who know how to use the lathe might currently be out of town.

Yeah, but they are difficult to source and tend to be a lot more expensive
I think most of the people who know how to use the lathe might
currently be out of town.
There’s no immediate rush, the wrong bolts have been in there and in the
wrong way for many, many years - the whole installation dates from 1923
