Hi all,
The Maker Faire UK is going to be in Newcastle again, on the 26th and
27th of April.
Bob and I have decided that rather than the normal approach of taking
a few big toys, which tends to leave a small number of people having
to deal with lots of small children, that it would be better to
showcase a much wider selection of hack space members work.
To that end, before the submission decline (19th January) can everyone
who has something to show, send me (kimball@bowerham.net) the
following on any project you want to show.
- Name of Item
- Short Description
- Size
- Power Requirements
- Network Requirements (wifi, wired only, none)
- Any risks to the public
- If complete, a photo
Projects being shown don’t need to be complete, in fact it would be
great to show in-progress work.
Ideally it would be good if you are free to come to Newcastle for the
weekend, but this is not essential.
To give me time to collate everything, please get this done by January 12th.
So if you have a project, or an idea for a project, to show at Maker
Fair in Newcastle, please email me by Jan 12th, and I will submit the
requests to Maker Faire.
Thanks,
Kimball
Eh? Someone being organised about Maker Faire? That’s not how we do things!

Bump - Reminder I need this by the end of the week so I can get the
application in.
I’ve had nothing yet by email - but I know there is stuff to show, so
please email me.

Oi you lot, respond to this
I’ll exhibit my 3d printed robot and quadrotor. Hopefully I’ll have it set
up so people can remote control it in a POV system. On 30 November 2013 15:15, Kimball Johnson kimball@bowerham.net wrote:

I could show my USB<>stuff PIC code
Sounds good.
I take it we’re not keen on taking frank over?
No - and no Project-a-Sketch either - we don’t want stuff that draws too
many kids, too much work for Newcastle.
Both will go to MMMF, but hopefully we will get many more people helping
out so it’s not too much of a drain.

I have my big robot. worthwhile?

Submitted, I suspect they are going to want more details though as they
didn’t really ask much. What I will need it to know all the PSUs we need
to take, so far all i’ve said is we won’t use more than 13A total. On 7 January 2014 15:18, Bob Clough parag0n@ivixor.net wrote:

Hi Kimball,
I’m sorry I shouldn’t have added some of my stuff!
I can take the Infinity Mirror and my version of the Knock Clock a few
other things. They are all low powered - Use 12V adapter or USB so should
not be an issue.
Cheers
