Hi,
Just a quick question, once the power gets back on
does anyone know if the old laser cutter will cut through 12mm MDF ?
I’m thinking of making one of these but with thicker material and steppers

Hi Alex,
Do you know if it would be possible to etch / engrave a line on the surface
My thoughts are I could manually cut it using the etch as a guide, unless
12mm is too thick to fit under the laser / for the focal point
Hi Richard,
May be best to wait for the new one to turn up…or, I have a 50W that
can do 10mm ply. If you care to give me a sample I’d be happy to give it a
go…

hi richard,
the other option would be fablab’s shopbot. you could get it cut easily
with that.

Thanks for the info
at the moment I’m having some super happy fun times re-moddeling it from
dxf into solidworks so I can then alter the thickness. so I’ll get back to
you on that one :)On Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 12:21:00 AM UTC+1, Tony Goacher wrote:
