Hi Guys n gals,
Mitch Altman is coming to the Madlab on March the 18th and it would be ace if you HACmanners would be there to give him a big Mancunian hacker-y welcome! Plan is to do a soldering workshop in the evening, based around the various kits that him and his friend Jimmie have put together. If anyone’s around in the day, the current plan (National Rail permitting) is to do an afternoon workshop along similar lines too, although maybe a bit more freeform and involving more stuff out of the junk pile. Also, he’s asked for lots of soldering irons/stations so if anyone’s got one that we could borrow for an afternoon/evening it would be muchly appreciated!
Asa
I’ll bring my solder station over at the next meeting and add it to the tool
pile at the back.
I should be there for the evening session, not sure if i can make the
afternoon one, but fingers crossed.

Hi,
I previously mailed about the soldering workshop to ask if it would be
suitable for kids to come along to as I’m part of the Home Education
network in Manchester and I’m sure we could get some interest. The
response was really positive and if at all possible I’d like to see
what we can arrange. Do you have any idea what might be possible?
Regards,
Dave.On 1 March 2010 23:34, Asa Calow mothership@asacalow.co.uk wrote:

Hi,
I’ve posted a few details and the link to http://madlab.org.uk/content/mitch-altman-hackday/
on to the Manchester Home Ed list. My wife and son #1 will be coming
to the afternoon session and I’ll head along to the evening one
(bloody work getting in the way of things!).
Do we need to come equipped with soldering irons etc or will there be
some to borrow?
Thanks,

Thanks Dave that’s ace. If you’ve got a soldering iron then bring it
down definitely. There should be a few knocking about but the more the
merrier.
