More 3d Printer

Good evening all.

After some failure with my current project I realised it would be easier
for me to 3d print a frame for it.

Long and short would someone be available next saturday to show me how to
use it?

Also, I have some experience modelling in sketchup, is there any free
software that folks would recommend over that?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

I think a fair few of us use openSCAD which somewhat misses the C and A of CAD as a friend pointed out recently and has earned me some fairly horrified looks from my colleagues. If you like maths and coding though it’s definitely worth a go.

If that’s not your thing I’ve heard some pretty good things about autodesks offerings. In particular 123D Make, 123D Design and Fusion 360. Based on a brief play I had with it 123D Design is pretty easy to get started with and has some fairly impressive features.

I don’t know how useful this reply is but hopefully it will provoke some spirited rebuttals of my stance

Hi Tamarisk,

that is actually really helpful, thank you. I do like playing with numbers
but my coding skills are feeble so I think I’ll give 123D Design a go.
