More news about the Derby Mini Maker Faire

Dear Fellow Maker

As you may have already heard there is a plan afoot to have a Mini
Maker Faire in Derby on 2nd June 2012 the venue will be the Old Silk
Mill industrial museum right in Derby City centre and will include the
outdoor space of Cathedral Green on the edge of the Derwent.

At the moment the plan is to have a public Mini Maker Faire on
Saturday 2nd June (first weekend of Derbyshire Half Term holidays for
kids) and a possible Makers Only Faire either on the Friday before or
Sunday after.

The call for Makers is likely to go out in early February once the
licence has been agreed with O’Reilly. The close will be the end of
February.

We’ve already had a huge amount of interest in just 24 hours for this
event. We’ve set up a Google Group for Makers to communicate with each
other and we are hoping for a strong Hackerspace and crafters
presence at the event.

Here is the google group

See you in Derby!
