New soldering station pledge drive

Our old grey soldering iron has finally given up (and has been sent to the
great soldering station in the sky). This leaves us with one iron on the
electronics bench.

I believe we could do with a new iron, and thus have created a pledge to
buy a nice new soldering iron (as recommended by several members who have
one). The pledge drive is on the wiki at the link below:

I’ve added a pony.

These are excellent soldering irons although they give off shedloads of EMI
at FM frequencies! We have them at work - I really like them.

Awesome. This is the same soldering iron I have at home, its somehow
really good for both tiny SMD stuff, and dumping ALL THE HEAT EVER into
massive groundplanes for soldering 50A connections.

I’ll chuck in £20On 10 November 2015 at 11:14, ‘Ben Dooks’ via Hackspace Manchester < hacman@googlegroups.com> wrote:

Today I found a ps-800 (the model before the ps900, uses the same handles
and tips) on ebay for £135 inc postage, they’ve accepted an offer for £110
though, which means this pledge is now complete!

So i’m calling in the pledges. Please transfer your pledge to the
hackspace account with the reference ps800, or give cash to a board member
in an envelope with your name, pledge amount and the ps800 reference.
