newbie enquiry - accessing the space

Hi everyone!

I’ve just applied to become a member for Manchester Hackspace, is the space
available to use during week days? And if so, how do I go about accessing
the space?

Access during the day is available via RFID tag. If you do not have
anything suitable then we have grey keyfob style tags available for
purchase.
The main door has shutters, but they are open most of the day and I think

Hi Sotira,

For the avoidance of confusion:

  • RFID tags are £2
  • Shutter Keys are £2.50 but unless you want to get into the building
    between 3am and 7am on weekdays or 3am and 10am on weekends you
    probably don’t need one

I don’t think anyone has been in to the space today - sorry if you tried
to get in. If you drop me an email off list (tamarisk@hacman.org.uk) I
can organise to be there when you are or you can arrange with our
membership secretary for an induction (kat@hacman.org.uk).

Alternatively you can pop in on a Wednesday evening (open evening) from
7pm onwards (we usually leave around 11pm) when there will definitely be
someone there.

As an aside: your RFID will not become active until after your first
payment has gone through although you can set it up at any time.
