Parts Order

Hi,
Is Ben having a parts order?

It doesn’t look like it!

He hasn’t mentioned anything. What is it that you are looking for?
You can order things yourself if they are simple passives and
semi-conductors from

www.bitsbox.co.uk

If there is something more specific that you need then we may have to
resort to Farnell or RS components or Rapid electronics. It all
depends on what it is you are needing. Last I heard you were building
an FM radio receiver. I reckon you can get most of those parts from
Bits box.

Cheers

I have bought a starter electronics kit. Consisting of a breadboard and a
selection of resistors, transistors, capacitors, etc. I did want some
specialist components. I will have a look at bitsbox. I may not come in
this week then, so see you guys next week when I have all the parts.

I have stumbled upon a cheap/easy design for a hovercraft, so I will post
that up soon for a critique. On Tuesday, April 24, 2012 1:39:11 PM UTC+1, Langster wrote:

If you want we should be able to find the specialist parts that you
need…Let me know what they are…

Hi,
Is Ben having a parts order?

It depends, I might do a Farnell order if people need stuff
but not really going to be doing a lot this week as I’m off
to London for the weekend.

Ben Dooks bjdooks@googlemail.com http://www.fluff.org/ben/

Harvinder,

I have been looking at the simple FM radio design. Most nearly all
the parts required are available from bits box. You can substitute
the 2N4416 JFET for an MPF102 JFET which is a similar device. The
only device which is difficult is the schottky diode TL431AIZ which
you would need to get from Farnell or RS.

The TL431AIZ is here:
http://uk.farnell.com/stmicroelectronics/tl431aizt/ic-v-ref-programmable-shunt-adj/dp/1564349

I would recommend getting the variable capacitors from farnell
also…as bits box doesn’t have one that goes high enough for that
circuit.

There are other things that you could make whilst at HacMan
though…doesn’t have to be radio related!

Cheers

I’ve just noticed that the exact variable capacitor isn’t needed and I
have some that are in the ball park of what you needed…it is just
the precision voltage reference (schottky diode) that we don’t have.
