Hi all,
We rented the space off you guys a few years back for an event, we’ve got a
side project going that we think would be greatly improved by a PCB we’re
thinking of using a manufacturer but we’re struggling with the software to
design one and I thought this might be the place to ask.
I’ve read this great article:
but
I’m really having a hard time with Eagle. Would anyone be willing to give
me a bit of a tutorial of an evening in exchange for beers?
Cheers,
Rob

The best thing to do would probably be to turn up tomorrow night at the
open evening at 19:00 or there abouts at 42 edge street - HacMan. Bring
your laptop with a copy of eagle and your design and we can give you a
tutorial.
It helps if you have made a few decisions before you begin such as:
Which sort of components do you want to use? Surface mount or through hole?
Do you want to make a double sided or single sided pcb?
How big can the pcb be?
What shape do you require? Do you have a box to put the circuit in?
What is the circuit for? Has it already been designed fully or is it a
prototype?
Cheers

Hi Alex,
That would be great. I’ll pop in tonight. I have a working prototype on a
breadboard of one part of what I we want so I can bring that along. It’s
basically the same thing as the prototype x 8.

No worries Rob, See you tonight. Please bring a schematic with you if
possible so we can start the process. The other things which might help is
to sketch out on a piece of paper how you see your PCB looking. Where do
you want any connectors to be placed such as the power in and any signals
etc.

Rob,
No worries it isn’t compulsory! After your visit I was thinking of writing
a blog post on how to design pcbs with eagle as you are not the first
person to ask.
I will let you know once I’ve posted it. I could use your feedback etc
