Paul,
having looked through the datasheet I cannot see a reference anywhere which
tells if the tab is connected to the drain.
You might need an insulator…I was confused…The drain on the fet is
normally connected to the tab. How hot does the device get when in use?
If the drain is connected you will need an insulator. However if it
doesn’t get too hot a bit of acetate will do.
Other than that the part is the correct replacement.
Cheers

The Farnell part is not plastic tabbed. The part I’m replacing is. Farnell
don’t appear to have plastic tabbed ones. That’s why I thought I needed an
insulator.
Is this not the case?

Paul,
The mosfet you have selected appears to be the same version as the
datasheet. T0220F means the package is plastic tabbed not metal tabbed. I
don’t have any mica insulators. If you buy the plastic tab version why
would you need an insulator?
Hope this helps
Alex

Hi!
I need some help before adding to today’s Farnell order.
I need to replace a Power MOSFET. It’s made by UTC and labelled “10N60L”.
Here’s the datasheet…
http://www.unisonic.com.tw/datasheet/10N60.pdf
I think it’s the TO-220F
I just need confirmation that this would be a suitable replacement…
http://uk.farnell.com/fairchild-semiconductor/fdp10n60nz/mosfet-n-ch-600v-10a-to220/dp/1885782
This is TO-220 rather than TO-220F - Does that make much difference? And
if so, do we have any mica insulating doodads?
Cheers
