Powering Actuators

Hi,
It seems to have an actuator http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/2305 and
I wish to power it.

For now I want to test it but it doesn’t seem to work :-S

I have a 12V 1A DC power supply (courtesy of Maplins) and according to the
spec for this linear actuator it requires 12V and 500ma with no load going
all the way up to 3A.

So I connected the power supply to the actuator and nothing happened, so I
reversed it just in case and again nothing. Am I doing something
fundamentally wrong?

Am I also right in thinking this is the same as a 12V DC brushless motor?

I take it back. It works now, I don’t think I had the wires in my
breadboard. Doh!

Thanks for all the fish!On Monday, 16 September 2013 22:32:04 UTC+1, Harvinder Atwal wrote:

I meant “properly in the breadboard”.

Not having them at all in the breadboard would’ve been an epic fail!On Monday, 16 September 2013 22:54:06 UTC+1, Harvinder Atwal wrote:
