I think the moon-laser is going a bit far, instead just use a giant
billboard on the surface - should be fine
Logo wise, I think going for a yellow pie-chart with a wedge cut out at
around the 90 degree mark could be a sound design choice?
I’ll have to check around again, but on Twitter, if hac-man or hacmanHS is
available, we should go for them. We can’t really do MooCards or stickers
until we get the logo sorted.
As far as the mailing list goes, the sooner we can shift off Google Groups,
the better, but if we can’t easily find somewhere to set-up-shop, then we
should just rename the mailing list.

As we’ll be moving to manchester city center early 2010, the
’Stockport & South East Manchester Hackspace’ name isnt really
applicable to us anymore, we’ve discussed rebranding in the meetings
and there were no objections there, thought i’d throw a thread on here
to try and work out what we need to sort out for it to go ahead.
We’ve pretty much decided on the name Hackers & Artists Community,
Manchester, or ‘HACMan’, partially because we liked it a the meeting,
partially because the domain was available!
The Todo list as it stands is:
- Design a new Logo (logo competition? might be a good excuse to
spam aoud, help people know about the rebrand)
- Sort out the mailing list (either through a rename of this one,
setting up a new one (llistserv? mailman?) and pointing people to it)
- Rebrand the blog (should just be a case of renaming it,
hacman.org.uk is already pointed there)
- Set up IRC room (i registered #hacman on freenode)
- Twitter? (hacman is taken, we could go for hacmanchester or manhac)
- T-Shirts!
- Stickers!
- Moocards!
- Burning it onto the moon with a giant laser!
