Spare amplifiers?

Anyone know if there’s any spare amps for use in the space? Want something
that will amplify up a sound signal to around 8-12V to play stuff through
my old telephone I’m messing with. I had a go at hacking one together the
other day, but it was pretty abysmal (horrible overdrive or nothing at all
coming through).

I think alex has designed some little mono amp kits he’s selling for cheap. On 10 July 2014 16:35, Edward Bennigsen pe.ads0@gmail.com wrote:

Hi Ed,

As Bob has mentioned I have developed an LM386 amplifer circuit for this
very purpose. I have ordered the PCBS from china however I made a few
prototypes which you could use for your nefarious purposes. I have made up
a kit ready to go so its all there. I have successfully tested it with my
mobile phone and as a guitar practice amp and it appears to work well.

Here is the link to my blog post on the subject if you want to read up on
how it works…

It haven’t worked out how much it all costs but it won’t be much.

Cheers

Yes…I will probably be in the space over the weekend…I’ll leave a kit
and PCB ready for you. I’m guessing as you are using a telephone you won’t
want to fit the 3.5mm audio jack socket. I’ll provide screw terminals
instead.

Cheers

ah…ok…I will leave the jack in the kit then…

Stereo or Mono? Mono is cheaper and I have a spare PCB…stereo I can do
but I will have to make a PCB up for you…I don’t mind it’s just I only
made two PCBS and I’ve given one away and the other is already populated
and tested and mine!!

Do you want to make your own or use one of the already constructed and
tested versions?

Mono is perfect thanks as it’s just a single speaker on the phone. Don’t
mind if have to construct it or not - whichever is easiest for you!On 10 Jul 2014 19:51, “Alexander Lang” alexanderlang1980@gmail.com wrote:

I’m a great believer in people feeling like they have achieved something if
they make it themselves! Also I have hardly any spare time at the moment.
I’ll leave you a kit! I take it you don’t need a speaker. You will need
to power this amp as well…I use a 9V battery most of the time but it
works ok with a 5 Vdc 500 mA power supply too (DC jack socket on the PCB.

Great! Actually I’m just wanting to power the speaker, so a 3.5mm
jack would be great for the Pi powering it.

Yes…I will probably be in the space over the weekend…I’ll leave
a kit and PCB ready for you. I’m guessing as you are using a telephone you
won’t want to fit the 3.5mm audio jack socket. I’ll provide screw
terminals instead.

Thanks so much Alex! I won’t be in at the weekend or next Wednesday
unfortunately - could you leave one somewhere for me?

Hi Ed,

As Bob has mentioned I have developed an LM386 amplifer circuit
for this very purpose. I have ordered the PCBS from china however I made a
few prototypes which you could use for your nefarious purposes. I have
made up a kit ready to go so its all there. I have successfully tested it
with my mobile phone and as a guitar practice amp and it appears to work
well.

Here is the link to my blog post on the subject if you want to
read up on how it works…

It haven’t worked out how much it all costs but it won’t be much.

Cheers

selling for cheap.

Anyone know if there’s any spare amps for use in the space?
Want something that will amplify up a sound signal to around 8-12V to play
stuff through my old telephone I’m messing with. I had a go at hacking one
together the other day, but it was pretty abysmal (horrible overdrive or
nothing at all coming through).
