stock count in farnell + pcb cnc?

hi all,

did anybody else had that problem, too, that the uk stock count in farnell
is really low? it seems to always suggest buying things from the us.

also, i would like to learn how to fabricate a pcb using the hackspace’s
cnc mill. are there some induction materials around to learn how to use it
once i know how? would it be ok if i were to use it?

hope you are all well.

Constantin…

which components are you trying to order that are not in stock? There are
nearly always UK alternatives it just depends on which boxes you tick when
using Farnell’s awesome (sarcasm) parametric search function. If you click
exclude extended range that removes all US stock which then should reduce
the number of available choices and then it’s luck if it is in stock. If
Farnell don’t have it there are other vendors that do.

There is not yet an instruction set for the CNC mill. Bob has it on his
todo list…which is a very long list. I can chemically etch a PCB for you
if you are desperate.

Cheers

hi alex,

“extended range”. thanks. was looking for this option!

with regard to the PCB etching. thanks for the offer. i think i’ll pick you
up on that for the next pcb. cheers. with the previous pcb i did i wasn’t
happy with my drilling of the holes. and i also left the etchant on for too
long. it just did not look professionally. so i hoped with proper cnc’ing
it’ll look better.
