I’ve just been talking on the IRC channel about the days we’ve started to
move towards.
From the looks of things, we’re tending to have our meetings on the First
and Third Wednesday each month, so I’d like to propose that we stop sending
out the Doodles for these fixed meetings, and update the group "welcome"
text.
If people want to do something special in a month, then we can still use
Doodle to plan those events, but our standard meetings seem to always end up
on the same days - does anyone disagree to this?

Looks like the second and fourth wednesdays to me!
I’m up for changing to regular nights, makes planning a little easier,
and i can put it in my google calender!
I’d also like to have a ‘floating’ once-per-month saturday hackday
once we have the space running, though i can see myself spending most
saturdays there!

Jon, I can’t make Wednesdays. If we are going to fix a day can it be Monday,
Tuesday or even Thursday? I know I’ve not Doodled or made any dates known,
as I’ve always been able to make previous meetings. If it’s a problem, I can
still make the floating ones…

OK, so how about this, we’ll hold of setting regular dates for the next four
meetings, and then we’ll re-visit the idea of setting a regular date. In the
mean time, use the doodle link https://doodle.com/2g26i9pkq7i3d5hm to help
us pick the dates as many of possible of us can make, and then after those
four meetings we’ll see what our usual nights end up being?

Seems a fair/good compromise
… eventually we’ll drift to the minima

Just to put my two pennies in: I’ve been able to make some Wednesdays
so far, but my availability on weekdays is variable. Tuesday’s are not
so good because every other geek thing is on a Tuesday (although I think
the fourth Tuesday is generally free).
I very much preferred the idea of one weekend day plus one weekday each
month since it gives people a choice of days, while having all
Wednesdays means those who can’t or find it difficult to turn up o
Wednesdays are cut out.

How would people feel if we fixed one wednesday (say the second
wednesday of the month) as a hacking / social / administrative
meeting, then had two floating hack days whenever people can make it?2009/8/17 Simon Ward simon@bleah.co.uk:
