I’ve had a clear-out and have a bunch of stuff that might be useful to
others, so rather than throw it away I’m offerring it free to whoever
wants it. I’m generally around at MadLab on the Third Thursday of each
month for NWRUG (http://nwrug.org/), or you can collect from Romiley,
South of Stockport. I might come in to Hacman one day to see what’s
going on too, but it probably won’t be this coming week.
Email me direct if you want something.
Hardware:
Tiny brand laptop, P3 1GHz. 128MB RAM, 28G HD (probably needs
replacing). DVD drive. No Ethernet port. Seems to run Linux OK.
Windows 2k license stuck to the bottom if that’s your thing. I hope
it’s not your thing though.
Dell lnspiron 1300. 1.5GHz Celeron processor, 248MB RAM. 30GB disk,
probably has errors. Network port, USB & DVD drive. Missing cover for
the ‘b’ key, like that ever gets used. Decorated by a child, looks
messy. Free copy of the LNX-BBC linux boot disc I couldn’t be bothered
to eject. Can’t find the power adaptor, but the one from the tiny
machine works. XP home edition license stuck to the bottom.
Epson perfection 1650 USB scanner. Fairly old, but it still works
fine.
Cheap Yamaha synth. Shitty old thing from the 90s. Sounds like R2D2
being tortured over an intercom, but who am I to judge if this is
"your sound". 12v, can’t find the power adaptor but a standard one
would do.
Some RJ45 connectors
Netgear WG111v2 Wireless USB dongle. Seem to remember having some
success getting it to work with Linux.
Other stuff:
XSLT cookbook (O’Reilly)*
Will.
If you don’t have a pressing need to learn XSLT I’d suggest avoiding
this. XSLT will make your eyes bleed.
I have found the power supply to the Dell laptop now.On Sep 10, 11:38 am, Will J will.jes...@gmail.com wrote:

I’m going to be in Manchester later today and might say hello after
the administrative meeting so if you want something speak up and I’ll
cart it in with me.On Sep 10, 11:38 am, Will J will.jes...@gmail.com wrote:

I’m in town today and would like anything left. It all looks
interesting, especially the laptops and synth!
Not sure if I can carry a synth with me on the bus though. Awwh.

What time is that? I can bring it all to MadLab if it’s open, before
the meeting, 18:00 say?
I really don’t want to cart any of it back home though, so Dan,
Alexander, if there’s anything you don’t want tell me and I’ll not
bring it out this time.
I was interested in the Dell Inspiron laptop and the keyboard. I have
an inspiron that I still use and wanted to see If there were any
’spares’ worth having. The keyboard Dan and I will have to argue over
