Hi All,
I’m planning on recalibrating & cleaning the laser cutter on Sunday
afternoon, as its gone a bit squiffy since we brought it upstairs. This
will include upgrading the firmware and tweaking the config. I’ll upload
new visicut settings to github once i’ve finished.
If anyone is planning on using it then, speak up and i’ll do it another
time.
Ta,
Bob
Managed to get this done this morning
The laser is now cutting perfectly over the whole bed. I have reset the
bed height for 3mm acrylic, so pieces are cutting straight and dont have
bevelled edges anymore. I’ve measured the swarf at (25.18mm - 24.80mm) / 2
= 0.38/2 = 0.19mm, so anything that needs to be perfect should take this
into account
I’ve not managed to do the software tweaks, so use the same visicut config
are as before.

Bob, that’s amazing, thank you so much.
Just to be clear, is 0.19mm the diameter of the beam, or the radius? On Jul 19, 2013 10:53 AM, “Bob Clough” parag0n@ivixor.net wrote:

Excellent! I think I’ll be burning more of your human money on it this
weekend then! Turns out the hole for the display is too small and some
controls are too close to it on my design.
“Print your design out on paper and make sure everything fits before
lasering” should be part of the induction ;)On Fri, Jul 19, 2013 at 10:53 AM, Bob Clough parag0n@ivixor.net wrote:
