Things that need sorting for BMMF

Stuff we need to sort before Brighton Maker Faire

Projects

  • Project-a-sketch - new screen, new board (xbee + arduino +
    accelerometer)
  • H2audiO - repaint & seal - add guttering instead of binbags - new board
    to make it sound nice?
  • Anything else? WaterChimes and TwitterDrummer are on the list - though
we can take other small things

Merchandise

  • Stickers - Round stickers, 40mm, hacman logo in center, contact details
    round outside
    • 250 = £71, 500 = £72.74, 1000 = 72.54, 1500 = 74.59, 2000 = 76.63
      from print24
    • 250 - £26, 500 - £42, 1000 - £60, 2500 - £115, 5000 - £215 from
      awesome
  • Cards - Get some more moo minicards
    • 200 = £20
  • Leaflet - Trifold leaflet with information about who we are, what we
do, when we meet, projects etc. - design & print 100 - £30 (may be cheaper
if someone wants to head to MARC and do the printing)

Other

  • Van - Crewcab van will fit 6 people + stuff - can someone find a good
price, we need to book this in the next week or so
  • MakerCamp - I may have accidentally challenged some other UK
hackspaces to an electric wheelchair-based-vehicle race… anyone got any
    big 12v/24v batteries handy?

I’m willing to buy 250 stickers from awesome if other people want to get the
moocards and leaflet printing.

I’ll put twenty quid in for Moo cards…and I will help with sorting
H2audiO…I should have managed to get the PCR machine finished
soon!!

I don’t have any big 12V or 24V batteries…I will keep my eyes open
for some. (UPS power supplies often have very good batteries,
otherwise its a pain as they are not cheap. Which van hire did use
for Maker Faire in March?? We need to find out the cost of hiring the
Van and then work out what it will be split six ways…I need to
budget! When is this happening again? I know it is in September.

Cheshire and Cheeper dont do crewcabs.

Salford is £180 + (2x£18 damage and collision waiver) + (£100 Deposit) for a
weekend (3pm Friday - 10am Monday, so we probably wouldnt get there till
gone 9pm).On 8 August 2011 12:28, Bob Clough parag0n@ivixor.net wrote:

Crikey…that ain’t cheap!! That works out at about £45 each divided
six ways not including the deposit (I’ve allowed £50 for fuel). It
would be £62 each including the deposit!!

Urghh…try Europcar and others…still going to be damn expensive.
Speaking of further expenses…where are we intending to stay on
this debacle?

Bob,

Europe car are will do a ford transit 280 for less than £140 from
Friday to Monday…They don’t say what the deposit is but It’s
normally £100 and then we would have to factor in fuel. Still thats
£40 cheaper than Salford Van Hire… I know we would still have to
fit the stuff in…I reckon it could be done but it would be a
squash. This is a logistical nightmare. Getting all of the kit and
ourselves down to Brighton and back is a pain!!

Urghh…try Europcar and others…still going to be damn
expensive.
Speaking of further expenses…where are we intending to stay on
this debacle?
