Anyone? Should only take an hour or so, maybe two trips. On 12 September 2013 14:17, Bob Clough parag0n@ivixor.net wrote:

I have use of a car on Monday and I’d like to clear some of the stuff
out of the space. I want to treat it as commercial waste though, so I
need to find a tip with a weighbridge. I’m going to phone the council
tomorrow and see what the options are with respect to the fridge and
the WEEE.On 19 September 2013 15:39, Bob Clough parag0n@ivixor.net wrote:

I suspect we can sort the 3 boxes of ewaste into a box of ewaste and 2
boxes of random plastic and metal bits if needed. On 19 Sep 2013 20:54, “Jim MacArthur” jim@mode7.co.uk wrote:

Trade waste details and charges
http://www.gmwda.gov.uk/services-and-facilities/trade-waste looks like the
fridge is free, everything else will be £62 for a half tonne and £10 for
the weigh in.
Assuming it counts as general trade waste. On 19 Sep 2013 20:54, “Jim MacArthur” jim@mode7.co.uk wrote:

Erk. I’ll give them a call and see if the WEEE counts as small
electrical (£25.98). Otherwise I’d rather investigate other options.On 19 September 2013 23:38, Bob Clough parag0n@ivixor.net wrote:

Hi, why not take it to the large scrap metal recycler just near Old
Trafford? They will pay you for it. I weigh in scrap wiring/parts/batteries
all the time with them. My last load was 86kg of copper scrap which made me
over £400! They also pay around £15 each for scrap car batteries.

I doubt much of the ewaste is metal, and we don’t have more than a few
kilos of scrap metal to get rid of. Take it over yourself if you like,
but I don’t think it’ll be worth the trip.On 20 September 2013 00:23, Jon W fast21@gmail.com wrote:

Well they do accept circuit boards, components etc so not just purely scrap
metal. I’ve never actually taken plastic into them but I’m fairly sure they
recycle that too. (don’t think they will pay you for it though)On 20 Sep 2013 00:26, “Jim MacArthur” jim@mode7.co.uk wrote:

The fridge is now gone.
I’ve spoken to the GMWDA who think that WEEE would count as normal
trade waste, so taking it to the tip would cost £63+£11+VAT for the
minimum quantity (half a tonne!). They suggested contacting
recycle-it.uk.com who should be able to at least give us the details
of other disposal companies, if they can’t use it themselves. Of
course if anyone wants to try the scrap metal merchant, feel free.On 20 September 2013 00:30, Jon W fast21@gmail.com wrote:
