Hey All,
Quick Reminder, tomorrow night we have some photographers from Manchester
Maker Faire coming along, if we can get as many people as possible at the
space, with any cool projects you’re working on / have completed that’d be
awesome.
This is going to be a big press release from MOSI, lets try and get as much
HAC:Man stuff in as possible, as it’ll be a great way of getting our name
out there to local makers, our target market.
The photographer is due to arrive at around 7.30, not sure how long he’ll
be staying for though.
Ta,
Bob
I can’t come (scoring cricket and I’m on the lights desk for the A2 Theater
Studies rehearsal, last week I was in Germany)
If u want I can send some in process pics
On another MMMF note, in the reg form it has stuff about hackerspaces, it
also says that if ur under 18 you need somebody over 18 to go with you. I
will try to talk the folks (apologies for sounding like an american) into
goin (unlikely but possible), but if we are all goin as a hackspace (very
confusing in the form if we register as separate booths but end up
together, are all spread out, or go as one big one) then might that satisfy
it ??
Thanks

I’ll probably put in a form for all of us (as most of the big things are
group projects), so you can be included in that if you want.
The more things we have on our stall the better IMO!On May 1, 2012 8:14 PM, “George Ainscough” dashroom66@googlemail.com wrote:

Cool, thanks,
If you want the requirements,
It’s big, and needs floor space
Needs a laptop, speakers and the matrix itself (ATX) for power
requirements
Safety list, only >500mA
Sound, some quiet-ish music (Sound 2 Light, not really going to be
a problem)
I think I will bring the smaller one as well (why not)
As before, I can get pics, and url is dashroom66.org (tag larger matrix)
TQ,

Interesting - from the writeup it seems you are using software PWM for
driving the LEDs, is that right?
There’s an alternative to PWM that you may not have heard of that
consumes far less CPU resources called MIBAM - I have used it to do
8x8x8-bit RGB LED colour fading at an effective PWM clock frequency of
31Khz, but only requiring around 3% of the processing, i.e. around 1Khz.
