Me and Bob are splitting the cost of a Transit van to get us to EMFCamp.
I’ll be picking up things from HacMan at about 9.20AM on Wednesday 27th
August. If anyone wants us to pick up tents or other things to make their
travel easier, please let us know on this thread or by editing
http://wiki.hacman.org.uk/index.php?title=EMFcamp_2014, and arrange for
things to be in the space at that time and easily identifiable.
Please be selective about what you take and consider what you’re really
going to need in a field for 3 days. Please also don’t leave stuff in
anyone’s way in the hackspace. I realise most of you won’t be able to meet
us on Wednesday morning but I’ll have to leave it up to consensus to say
whether you can leave items in the space before then.
We’ll be returning to HacMan on Monday at about 5PM (a very vague guess).
I notice there’s now a box in the space marked ‘van box’ so I assume
I’m meant to take what’s in there.
This shouldn’t be a problem, I’m just curious as to why no-one replied
to this post or edited the wiki as I asked. There seems to be a
general reluctance in HacMan to use any form of electronic
communication. Is there something other than a mailing list we should
be using?On 11 August 2014 19:18, Jim MacArthur jim@mode7.co.uk wrote:

Hey Jim,
Apologies, Tom asked me where he should put his tent etc and i asked him to
label up a box and put everything in there.

Any chance you know anyone with a spare seat going down? My dad was coming
and gonna drive but has just pulled out and i’ve been accepted to do a
talk, so I’m stuck in a quandary wondering what’s the best solution. Moved
up here to near Hebden, and I don’t know the community very well, EMF would
be a good socialising opportunity and would be a shame to miss out. Do you
know anyone who might have a seat for a wee hobbit? On Monday, 11 August 2014 19:18:54 UTC+1, Jim MacArthur wrote:

I’m planning on driving, Friday morning (early-ish, say setting off at
8:00 AM), planning on returning on Monday morning, not decided exaclty
when, but probably not too early.
I’ll be driving from Romiley, near Stockport, so if those times are OK
with you, and you can get to the vicinity I’ll give you a lift.

south Manchester at about 3pm on friday
Market Harborough is still an hour away from milton keynes, but its
significantly closer than Manchester or the moon,
Will be doing the reverse trip on sunday eve, 5/6pm…
